Erle - Your piece came up on my Google search for LaRouche. Your slanders on LaRouche notwithstanding, I thought I should address your mistake on the "people's purse" for Obama, and on the election itself. It should be clear that even Donald Duck could have beaten any Republican candidate after eight years of the idiot in the White House. The election was decided in the Democratic primary, not in November. The recognition that Hillary, especially because of her husband and LaRouche's connections to her campaign, could have become an FDR-like figure, who could take on the British/hedge fund apparatus on Wall Street that has infected (and bankrupted) the US banking system, led to the massive dirty tricks effort from both within and without the US to keep her out - including the massive hedge fund financing of the Obama campaign. The sophistry of Obama on behalf of the hedge funds should be clear to all by the fact that he became, during the campaign for the November vote, the world's leading supporter and enforcer of the Bush Administration and its insane "bail out" policy, to the extent that he personally was deployed to threaten the many Democrats in the House who opposed the Paulson sell-out of the world to Wall Street and London, which has already pumped several trillion dollars into the black hole.
The institution of the presidency in the US is more than the person of the President, however, and, although the hour is late, there is still a possibility of US leadership breaking from the London policy (what Gordon Brown calls his "global Chancellor of the Exchequer" proposal for a global dictatorship over sovereign nations' economies by the IMF or a similar body), and joining with Russia, China, India, and others in instituting a new monetary system based on the principles of the FDR Bretton Woods. The alternative is hell.
